The Fire Department of Liberty Township is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Online Chat Support Agent to join our team in Clayton. This full-time, remote position is perfect for an entry-level professional looking to begin a rewarding career in public safety support. As a key point of contact for community members, you will provide timely and accurate assistance through online chat, helping to ensure that the department delivers exceptional service to the residents we serve.

In this role, you will handle a variety of incoming chat inquiries, ranging from general questions about fire safety programs to guidance on public records and departmental services. Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to online chat inquiries from community members
• Provide accurate information about Fire Department programs, services, and procedures
• Assist residents with questions related to fire safety, permits, and public records
• Route complex or emergency-related requests to the appropriate department personnel
• Maintain clear and detailed chat logs and records of interactions
• Follow established communication guidelines and data privacy protocols
• Identify opportunities to improve the quality of chat support services
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and reliable information is shared
• Escalate urgent or sensitive issues to supervisors in a timely manner
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with departmental policies and public safety topics

Requirements

• Entry-level position — no prior work experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent
